New products:

The product development pipeline at Pelican Worldwide is very busy for 2008. This forward thinking approach to innovation and commitment to product development has gained Pelican Worldwide a position on the “Inc. 5000” fastest growing companies list published by Inc. magazine on Aug. 20, 2007.

You can be on the lookout for:

* A chemical tank trailer valve line that will include pressure relief vents, vacuum relief valves, vapor recovery systems, and manhole assemblies -- all manufactured in stainless steel.
* Development of dry bulk road tanker product line, which includes aluminium and cast iron butterfly valves, hopper tees and ancillary products.
* Development of several new pneumatic and hydraulic driven stainless steel valves.

Some of the most recent product developments are:

* Series 190 split body butterfly valves for dry bulk. The series 190 and 200 butterfly valves offer a unique molded in "relief angle" which helps eliminate increased torque due to seat compression once installed between two flanges.
* A collapsible hand rail safety system, which is universal for installation on all tank containers.
* Hydraulically operated Smartflow discharge assembly.
* Hydraulically operated, remote controlled “Airmaster” Airline ball valve.
* Pneumatically operated “Smartflow” Discharge Valve which is now available with an extended body for use in the offshore tank market
* Development of a complete Hygienic Sanitary Valve line.
* New custom tank discharge solution which utilizes a stainless steel control panel mounted to the tank container frame which pneumatically operates 3 Hygienic butterfly valves with a spring return.
* In the Polymer's division, new production software is developed, which tracks the ingredients, mixing parameters, quality control and the laboratories physical results testing of the manufactured products, all integrated into 1 interface used by 4 different departments. This proprietary software gives the ability to demonstrate superior polymer systems through all phases of production.

Services: By offering over 5500 line items, from one of Pelican's three company owned distribution centres worldwide, Pelican has become the tank industries “Just In Time” supply chain solution, allowing our customers the luxury of reduced inventories, so they can focus on the job at hand of managing their fleets.

2. Discussion of recent market trends

The recent market trend of re-using gaskets and seals for multiple tank loadings is a very dangerous act and only increases the risk of product failures and load contaminations. Some gasket manufacturers have taken the dangerous approach of designing gaskets which are intended for 2 or more tank cleanings and tests to save costs.
