Some time ago Industry Innovator, Pelican Worldwide, was approached by Hoyer Global Transport, for a special assignment.
Hoyer has proceeded to exercise transports by tank container for one of the largest beer brewers in the world.
In order to realize this, a number of crucial modifications were necessary, such as: operating valves without having to actually go onto the tank container. This being for hygienic and safety reasons.
The aim was to operate the three valves per tank container from the ground, using one control unit, with a number of possibilities, including:
* During transport: shut all the valves. * During loading and unloading: one valve open, two valves shut. * During cleaning: all valves open.
Pelican Worldwide, specialized in, among other things, Hygienic Sanitary Valves, was happy to take on the challenge and developed a complete system per tank container, made up of:
* Three Pelican Hygienic, Pneumatic Driven Butterfly Valves, with spring return. * A Pelican Pneumatic SS Box, Air Controlled, attached to the frame of the tank container.
The level of specialization is not only reflected in the Valves, but namely in the fact that the valves, which are driven by a UV-resistant pneumatic air hose, can be independently operated with only one handle.
The project was executed to the full satisfaction of both Hoyer and the beer brewer. All is functioning to everyone's full satisfaction and follow-up orders have been placed.
Pelican Worldwide is widely known when it comes to special projects, especially in the field of pneumatic and hydraulically operated valves. Earlier, they had already developed the Hydraulically Activated Airmaster which makes going onto the tank container unnecessary for opening and shutting this ball valve.
